They don’t work! They get too dirty! They distort your vision! It’s not possible!

They also forget the cool thing called windscreen tear-offs, though I ask: how fast can you pull it out?
Oh, and ejector seats, please.

I have this crazy idea that I want to daily commute in an LMP car. I know it would be terrifically uncomfortable, but dang, would it be fun.

I admittedly haven’t driven either an LMP car or an F1 car (shocking, I know) but wouldn’t the bodywork on one of these keep a lot of the tire debris from being fired at the car following or is that wishful thinking? Not all of it obviously but you’d think there would be a lot more coming off the back of an F1 car. And if my F1 car can’t have a windscreen wiper I’d at least like to be able to reach the tear-off (on my helmet visor) instead of pitting to have a tech do it for me.

i know this is an old post, but whatever...
yeah, windscreens (and enclosed cockpits) work in endurance racing because the pitstops are longer than 4 seconds. unless they add another crew member to peel one of those sticky things off, i can see windscreens confounding the whole pit lane operation.
